Powder chilies are very popular in Mexico; they are used for cooking and to sprinkle on snacks. They tend to be bitter sweet with a mix of lemon juice and sugar in them. Our love affair with chilies does not stop with savoury dishes, oh God no, we love them over fruit, in sweets and anywhere we can add them to.
My Mexican Shop is run by husband and wife team, Lily & Alan. He is Irish and she is Mexican and they met in Japan over 15 years ago. Lily has been living and cooking in Ireland for over 10 years now.
They both share a passion for good food, travel and cooking; When not busy running their business and carrying out other work endeavours, they can be found in their Dublin kitchen, cooking (mainly Lily) and eating (mainly Alan) all sorts of yummy food.
